Prevention
To prevent infection and to slow transmission of COVID-19, do the following:

Get vaccinated when a vaccine is available to you.

Stay at least 1 metre apart from others, even if they don’t appear to be sick.

Wear a properly fitted mask when physical distancing is not possible or when in poorly ventilated settings.

Choose open, well-ventilated spaces over closed ones. Open a window if indoors.

Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub.
-
Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.

If you feel unwell, stay home and self-isolate until you recover.
Symptoms
Most common symptoms:
-
fever

cough

tiredness
-
loss of taste or smell
Less common symptoms:
-
sore throat
-
headache
-
aches and pains
-
diarrhoea
-
a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes

red or irritated eyes.
Serious symptoms:

difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

loss of speech or mobility, or confusion

chest pain.

Seek immediate medical attention if you have serious symptoms. Always call before visiting your doctor or health facility.
People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should manage their symptoms at home.
On average it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days.

A. CIRCULAR NOTE OF THE COVID-19 WORKING GROUP NUMBER 19 OF 2022 ON HEALTH PROTOCOL FOR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
All foreign travelers (foreign nationals) who want to enter the territory of the Republic of Indonesia must comply with the established travel requirements, which include the presentation of a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 and the use of the PeduliLindungi application.
Foreign travelers do not need to submit a negative RT-PCR test prior to flight.
All foreign travelers can access the territory of Indonesia through the following entry points:
Airports: (i) Soekarno Hatta, Jakarta/ Banten; (ii) Juanda, East Java; (iii) Ngurah Rai, Bali; (iv) Hang Nadim, Riau Islands; (v) Raja Haji Fisabilillah, Riau Islands; (vi) Sam Ratulangi, North Sulawesi; (vii) Zainuddin Abdul Madjid, West Nusa Tenggara; (viii) Kualanamu, North Sumatra; (ix) Sultan Hasanuddin, South Sulawesi; (x) Yogyakarta, Yogyakarta Special Region; (xi) Sultan Iskandar Muda, Aceh; (xii) Minangkabau, West Sumatra; (xiii) Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II, South Sumatra; (xiv) Adisumarmo, Central Java; (xv) Syamsuddin Noor, South Kalimantan; and (xvi) Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman, Sepinggan, East Kalimantan. → The airports mentioned in numbers (xi), (xii), (xiii), (xiv), (xv) and (xvi) will be open exclusively for those foreign travelers who are making the pilgrimage trip to Mecca (Hajj ), from June 4 to August 15, 2022.
Ports: All seaports are open as entry points for consideration by the General Directorate of Maritime Transport, Ministry of Transport.
Cross-border posts: (i) Aruk, West Kalimantan; (ii) Entikong, West Kalimantan; (iii) Mota'ain, East Nusa Tenggara; (iv) Nanga Badau, West Kalimantan; v) Motamasin, East Nusa Tenggara; vi) Wini, East Nusa Tenggara; (vii) Skouw, Papua; and (viii) Sota, Papua.
Upon arrival at points of entry, foreign travelers will be required to undergo a COVID-19 symptom check, including a body temperature check:
- If you do NOT present symptoms of COVID-19 and your body temperature is less than 37.5 degrees Celsius, it will not be necessary to undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival.
- If they DO present symptoms of COVID-19 or have a body temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius, they must undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival.
The measures related to the quarantine period for foreign travelers are as follows:
Quarantine is no longer required for those who have received the complete vaccination schedule (2 doses) at least 14 days before departure time. A quarantine period of 5 x 24 hours is required for those who have not been vaccinated or have not received the complete vaccination schedule (2 doses).
Foreign travelers under 18 (eighteen) years of age and/or requiring special protection may follow the quarantine period provisions imposed on their parents or guardians.
Foreign travelers included in the following categories are exempt from showing the COVID-19 vaccination certificate (physical or digital):
- Foreign travelers holding diplomatic or official visas related to official/state visits by their foreign officials at the ministerial level and above and foreign citizens traveling to Indonesia under the Travel Corridor Agreement scheme, in accordance with the principle of reciprocity;
- Foreign travelers who need to make stopovers within the national territory and then travel outside Indonesia, provided that they do not leave the airport area during the transit process, and provided that (i) they have been authorized by the Port Health Office and (ii) have shown a flight ticket that proves such intention;
- Under 18 years of age;
- Those who have completed the COVID-19 quarantine period and have been declared free of COVID-19, who are required to bring a COVID-19 recovery certificate from a government hospital or Ministry of Health in the country/region of origin of departure ; either
-Travelers with special health conditions or comorbid illnesses that prevent the person in question from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, who must also present an official medical certificate proving such condition.
B. COVID-19 TASK FORCE CIRCULAR NOTE NUMBER 18 OF 2022 ON DOMESTIC TRAVEL DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
For all domestic travel by air, sea, and land modes of transportation, using private or public vehicles, cruise ships, and intercity trains to and from any region within the entire Indonesian territory, the following measures apply:
- Travelers with the complete vaccination schedule (2 doses) or with a booster dose (3 doses) do not need to submit an RT-PCR test or rapid antigen test.
- Travelers who are still receiving the first dose of the vaccine must show a negative result in the rapid antigen test, whose sample was taken within 1 x 24 hours or RT-PCR taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure.
- Travelers with special health conditions or comorbid illnesses that prevent the person in question from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine must show a negative RT-PCR result taken within 3 x 24 hours before departure, along with a certificate official doctor indicating that the person in question has not/has not been able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine due to his/her health condition.
- Travelers under 6 years of age are excluded from the above conditions and can travel with their parents or guardians.
International travel to Indonesia is permitted for vaccinated travelers with valid visas. There are exceptions for non-vaccinated citizens and residents.
It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Foreign travelers must have a valid visa, a special permission, or travel with an agreement scheme to be eligible to enter.

Other restrictions
Travelers must install and register to the PeduliLindungi mobile app.
Additionally, foreign travelers must provide proof of travel insurance, with a minimum coverage of $25,000 USD covering costs related to COVID-19 handling, and proof of accommodation payment.
Vaccination required
Travelers are required to present a valid printed or digital international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, written in English, in addition to the language of the country of origin. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.
Alternatively, those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may instead provide proof of recovery, issued not more than 30 days before departure as well as a fit to fly medical certificate.
Indonesian citizens and residents who have not received full vaccination will be required to get vaccinated during the quarantine period.
Travelers entering the country with an agreement scheme or in transit, as long as they are not exiting the airport area and present a flight ticket outside Indonesia, are exempt from vaccination requirements.
Test/medical certificate required
Proof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 48 hours, must be presented on arrival.
Alternatively, those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 may instead provide proof of recovery, issued not more than 30 days before departure as well as a fit to fly medical certificate.
Testing on arrival
All travelers are subject to RT-PCR testing on arrival. If a positive result is received, travelers must follow the instructions of health officials.
Other medical measures
All passengers are subject to health screening on arrival, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.
Additional documents required
An 'Indonesia health alert card' (eHAC) must be completed and the generated QR code must be presented on arrival. Travelers must download the 'eHAC Indonesia' application to complete the form.

Government measures
In addition to safety guidelines, preventative health measures such as frequent hand washing and social distancing are encouraged to combat further outbreaks. Use of masks
Face masks are required in public spaces, enclosed environments, and on public transportation.
Public transport
Public transportation is operating with strict social distancing rules in place. Domestic travel may be restricted depending on the region visited.
Restaurants
Restaurants are open in most regions with limits to capacity in place to allow for social distancing. Further restrictions may be in place depending on the region visited.
Bars
Bars are open in most regions with limits to capacity in place to allow for social distancing. Further restrictions may be in place depending on the region visited.
Nightclubs
Nightclubs are closed to limit the rate of transmission.
Shops
Shops and services are open with adapted safety measures in place, such as the use of hand sanitizer and social distancing. Further restrictions may be in place depending on the region visited.
On return
Vaccinations and vaccinated travel
Travelers who present a valid certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 are exempt from pre-departure testing requirements.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure and not more than 9 months (270 days). Thereafter, the vaccine certificate must reflect that a vaccine booster has been administered.
Authorized vaccines include those approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
